How We Met

This story is true and one that I am proud to give to all who come to visit our web site.  And it is one that many say is an odd story, but is it ours and we will stand by it no matter what.  By popular demand, I introduce to you our story of love and how we met.

At age 25, I was in a situation that made it so I could not afford a car and I road a bicycle all over town to get to many places and do many things.  As I road my bicycle one day, a man I hadn't seen for many months yelled out to me.  He was someone I had hoped never to see again, but doing things on a bicycle made it hard to ignore him.  He was with another man who seemed to disbelieve his stories of losing me and looking for me for over a year.  The other man was right to disbelieve this guy, as I had broken up with him for being very mean and disrespectfully toward me.  I had left him for many other reason as well that I will not tell you about.

Tom, the man who wanted me back, was talking how good things had been between us.  When in fact, they had been awful and a total failure no matter how he talked.  Yet, to be nice and let him dream of good things been us, I had agreed to give him another try.  Young Blood couldn't believe I was willing to give him another chance when it hadn't worked before.  At this point, he could no longer keep quiet and told Tom that if he didn't take care of me, he would.

I felt rather strange at this point and said nothing at all, which made Tom a bit nervous.  Yet, I knew how things had gone before with Tom and the way he was.  So I kept my mouth closed and waited for the man to mess up.

A few days later, Tom and I were to go on our first date of our new beginning with each other.  I waited for hours after he was late and knew that he would not show.  Hunt and disappointed to some degree, I went to bed and surprisingly, slept like a baby.  Only to hear a knock at my door the next morning that I didn't expect.  It was Young Blood, with the saddest look on his face, and I invited him in.

I knew that something was wrong without him saying a word, and my heart fell to my toes.  Tom had already messed up and I knew it.  He was here to tell me about it and I couldn't seem to keep my mind on what he had to say.  All I could think about was him, sitting there in front of me, and looking all so handsome.  It was mid-august and his skin seemed to glow a beautiful copper brown from the sun.  It was easy to tell that Young Blood was an outdoors guy and he looked the part.

At the end, all he said was, "I meant what I told Tom about not taking care of you, that's if you'll have me."  I didn't know what to say, and I sat there quietly just looking intently at him.  A few minutes later he added, "Well, will you go out with me?"  It was like I was in some sort of dream as I accepted.

He left a couple hours later after we had talked about many things, and all things that we both seemed to agree on.  Life in general seemed good and I had finely met the man of my dreams, yet, I didn't know how to take him or what to think about him.  He was one in a million and I knew it.  I went to bed that night unwilling to go to sleep.  The wonder and curiosity was killing me about this wonder dream of a man who wanted me just for me.  We had set up the date for two days away, and I was on pins and needles in the meantime.

It was unbelievable that two days had past so fast, and it was time to get ready for my date with Young Blood.  The day seemed to drag on forever, as I watch the clock every hour on the hour.  I was excited and it showed, and there was nothing I could do to hide the feelings I felt toward this man.  I seemed to melt like butter around him, and he had a look in his eyes that said respect for the person he would be with on any occasion.  Seven O'clock couldn't come some enough to suit me and I hurried to get ready for the date that night.  I had tried on so many things and couldn't make up my mind on what to wear for this date, and I felt like a teenager once again.

As the clock seemed to slow each time I looked at it, I was as jumpy as a young school girl going out with a boy for the very first time.  I couldn't set more than five minutes and I jumped at every sound.  I wanted to look extra nice for this knight in shining armor and it just wasn't working for me.  Finally, something that look nice on me, yet allowed me to act like myself.  I had settled for a pair of slakes and a nice blouse, with my best dress shoes.  It wasn't all the much, but it covered me well and I felt good about what I had picked.

Seven O'clock rolled around and he hadn't come yet, and I began to think that he also had stood me up.  I sat waiting in my little apartment thinking the worse, when suddenly there was a knock on the door.  I jumped and ran to answer it.  There he stood, just as handsome as I thought he would be all dressed up for our date, and our eye met with a lock that nobody could have broken.  He greeted me with,  "Hello pretty gal, did you think I had forgotten you?"  I couldn't reply and was love struck from that moment on.  He held out his arm and I took it, and we walked to his pickup to head out for dinner for two and a movie.

When the date was over, he took me home and remained the prefect gentlemen as he walked me to my apartment door.  He gently took the key from my hand, unlocked the door for me and bid me good night.  It was one time that I hated to see my date leave so soon, when it fact, it was very late indeed.  As he walked away he said, "I'll call on you tomorrow afternoon if that is all right, and take you to lunch."  Then he was gone and I closed the door.  It was time to get some rest if at all possible after being swept off my feet by this gentle, kind and loving man.

From there I guess the story is just plain happiness from years gone bye.  We are now married and have been for several years.  No children, but that's ok, as we have each other and the love we share can never be replaced.  Our relationship is special with each other and we know it...a gift from our Creator that continues to grow to this very day.  A relationship that has been since 1981.  To be exact, August 13, 1981.  It may seem odd to some, but we met and on August 13, 1981 and married on August 13, 1985.  It makes it very easy to remember both as we never want to forget either.  Together, we are, each others wind song.  And we plan to keep it that way for the rest of our lives.

It is now 2004, and people tell us that they are amazed at the way we still hold hands while walking in a store, or that special look in our eyes for each other that shows our love.  But it's true, we do these things and enjoy every single minute together most of the time.  We seldom argue and when we do, we don't do it in public.  That is just something meant for our ears to hears, not the world around us.  We're in this for better or worse...for sickness and health...and forever and forever.  We are a rare and beautiful team of people who believe in each other as most do not.  I can only hope that others may find what we have together.

Our Passions in Life

As most can tell from our "About Us" page, we have a huge passion for each other and our animals.  But until most start to read further into the site, they cannot tell the rest.  So we decided that we should have a page about "Our Passions in Life".

One of the most important parts of our lives is the Blackfoot Culture and pressuring it within our own hearts and minds.  Some question our reasons for creating a site that is about the Blackfoot Culture and way of life.  But we do not.  It is to teach others what we already know as fact.  To let others learn as we have that the Blackfoot Culture is beautiful in every sense of the word.

We have been told by some that our passion for the Culture is foolishness and we should not bother with learning it at all.  But as always, we have not listened to those who do not understand and are unwilling to learn different things.  Yet, few know that this is not our only passion in life.  Few know that we strive to bring happiness to others.  And few know that we enjoy many other things.

We know as most people do, that life does not evolve around us along.  For it takes many different things to make life worth wild and enjoyable.  So, we give you a list of the things each of us enjoys.
