The Indian Within

Maiden & Fawn

There's a calling from within me,
It's presence is always know,
It's the Indian within me.

The love of nature and kind heart,
Tell me I'm not alone,
It's the Indian within me.

Though some folks say it's not truly me,
I can't say as I agree,
It's the Indian within me.

I feel as though I'm all alone,
For there is no space to roam,
It's the Indian within me.

Though they say I'm white as snow,
There's a never ending search in my soul,
It's the Indian within me.

They say I've turned against my own kind,
Yet, I've never felt welcome among them,
It's the Indian within me.

I see only what my heart desires,
The need of seeking where I belong,
It's the Indian within me.

I've found that place right where I'm at,
And I'm within my hearts desire,
It's the Indian within me.
