The Eye of the Buffalo

Eye of Buffalo

To look upon a buffalo is an awesome sight,
He's beauty truly is beyond compare,
But to look into his eye, you see an inner beauty.

An eye of deep thought and wisdom,
As though seeing back in ancient time,
His looks of pain from what he's seen.

I've seen many great sights to behold,
And they cannot compare to the eye of a buffalo,
Oh, for the knowledge he must hold.

He is not like the white eyes cow,
All sad, with a look as though ready to cry,
But a look of gratefulness to be alive.

Although I must watch mostly from afar,
This one chance will never escape my mind,
For I have looked into a buffalo's eye.

I have seen the wisdom that he holds,
I have watched as he looked me in the eye,
And I have felt the power he holds within his eye.

He is mighty, and he is strong,
He holds much wisdom in his eye,
The great and powerful buffalo.
