Disqualifiers

 Criteria is subject to change without notice. 

 The criteria's below are mandatory! 

These disqualifiers are for all levels. PLEASE NOTE: The disqualifying criteria below were revised on 5/19/06, and that anyone applying after this date must meet of exceed the criteria's below. We have kept a copy of the old criteria for applications that came in before the date mentioned above.

Having under construction signs or statements, which are demanded by the judges at the time of their evaluations of your awards program.

bullet

Not filling out the application form correctly, which will result in you not getting any notification whatsoever for your status.

bullet

You must not disable the right click function.

bullet

No Translation of another language to English or the lack of such.  Translates are not accepted.

bullet

You must not knowingly collect information in any form from children under the age of 13 without the parent's consent.  You must also be in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission [FTC] COPPA Act - Children's Online Privacy Protection Act website.

All website pages must load quickly and easily. We prefer 90 seconds (1 minute & 30 seconds) on any modem.

bullet

Having pornography and/or nudity of any type, violence, hatred or discrimination, warz, crackz, or hackz or any other form of illegal activities whatsoever.  This includes sites that children cannot view due to images and/or content.  This also includes sites which use profanity of any kind.

Listing rejected sites. This is not allowed as it demeans the respective sites.

Your criteria's must be understandable, written in a clear and decisive manner.  If we can't understand them, how do you expect anyone else too?

Text that looks like this --->  TyPiNg LiKe ThIs NoT AcCePtEd   <--- which is AnNoYiNg to say the least.  (If We can't read it we won't stick around to evaluate it.)

Sites with only links to other sites.

bullet

No site map for your viewers, must be on a separate page or on each page of your award program and/or website.

bullet

If you associate your awards program with (Award Me). Which indicates that your awards are of a give-a-way nature.

bullet

Not having a winners list of some type.

bullet

Awarded websites not linked so people may visit them. If you choose to leave the site listed, at least give a reason for the link being missing (e.g. Site URL no long valid.).

bullet

No stated date of awards program age on site (e.g. Established 0/0/05).

bullet

Remote loading to things on someone else's site which is bandwidth stealing.  Exceptions will be allowed for Counters, GuestBooks, Message Boards, etc.

bullet

Asking applicants to sign or join anything to win your awards such as: GuestBooks, Message Boards, etc.

bullet

No option to skip Flash Introductions pages.

bullet

Your website address on the awards.  This is self advertisement and will not be accepted.  There are means to advertise your awards program without doing it in this way.

bullet

Award images larger than 200 x 200 pixels in measurement and must be under 15k.

Upgrade & Downgrade Rules

90 Days (3 months) Waiting Period after date of any initial rating, upgrade, or unchanged rating notification.

bullet

Your website must be displaying the most recent rating level banner design as listed on ATC.

bullet

Upgrade rating review period can take 1 to 4 weeks after submittal.

bullet

Downgrading While chances are remote, downgrading of an award program can occur if it does not keep up with the standards of the respective rating level criteria. This is based on the current date not when its level was achieved. This will be reflected to any upgrade request or correspondence from a third party.

Images from Geocities and other free service providers will not display on ATC. An alternative server is required before an upgrade rating request can be submitted. Otherwise, award program will be given 14 days to do so or be downgraded to level 1.

Removal Criteria

 These are grounds for immediate removal. 

Removal criteria pertains to all levels.

Not notifying ATC of an email address change.

bullet

Awards program being inactive for more than 30 days without notifying ATC.

bullet

URL change without notifying ATC, redirect pages are not acceptable.

bullet

Not displaying the badge sent at the time of acceptance and notifying us that it has been posted.

bullet

Adding any type of illegal activities after receiving our badge.

bullet

Finding copyright infringements and/or plagiarism violations after receiving our badge.  This includes demeaning others for any reason.

bullet

Finding the following after receiving our badge:  Pornography, Racism, Nudity, Violence against Humans or Animals, and/or any other offensive material.  This includes any links to such sites.

bullet

Reports of abusive behavior will be investigated and if we find them to be true, you will be removed.

*We reserve the right to instruct any web site to remove our badge if found to be in violation of any of our 'Criteria'.
